Who dat?

Almost three years to the day, I am making a new blog post.

Since my last entry, I eventually closed on the house (it took two months of turmoil and a few days on the hospital w/pneumonia – I already hated hospitals before that), done a lot of work fixing up the house (tons left to do), leased an Altima to replace my Jeep (the lease is almost up), shifted my career path from quality assurance to web development (same company for now), and a few other things.

Oh, one other little thing…

Jules and I got married.

A couple of little changes…

Posted in Life, Zombie Apocalypse on April 10, 2012 by dougroberson

I’ve come to a realization. I suck at blogging. For whatever reason, I am totally incapable of posting on a regular basis. Because of this, I always have a million things to write about when I get back to it.

The picture on the left? That is a house I’m hoping to close on at the end of the month. Since my last post, a few things have changed. one of the most fun ones, so far, is that I’ve moved back to South Florida.

I Hate Labor Day weekend

Posted in Gardening, Life, Neighbors, Zombie Apocalypse on September 4, 2011 by dougroberson

I just finished potting a bunch of rose cuttings and posted the picture on Facebook. I guess I’ll slap it on here, too. I swear, next year’s hobby is going to be something where I can get some money back after I make it. Maybe wind chimes. You can find those in tobacco barns and McMansions. Just no more summers of working my ass off with nothing to show at the start of the fall, okay, Doug?

Back in the Saddle Again

Cuttings from a pink hybrid tea rose, courtesy of Chuck and Debbie.

This morning, I planted a few cuttings from a pink hybrid tea rose that Chuck and Debbie brought over Thursday night. One of the best parts about growing roses from cuttings is that you’re sharing your garden with others and they’re sharing theirs with you. Two years from now, the work I’ve done since last Fall will really pay off and I hope to share cuttings from my garden with everyone I know.

After I finished the cuttings, I started installing a new radio in my Jeep. That’s right! I got it back yesterday with a strong tranny installed!

The first of the crop is sprouting

The first of my cuttings to break through the soil.

I just recently finished planting what I hope will become 150 rose bushes along the inside of my privacy fence in the back yard. I took cuttings from favorite bushes in my back yard, around the neighborhood, and from my office. I didn’t record which species I planted where because I wanted a surprise.

Lucy, you hab some ‘splainin’ to do!

Posted in Fatty, Gardening, Life, Zombie Apocalypse on March 1, 2011 by dougroberson

I’ve been slack. I guess I hab some ‘splainin’ to do.

My last post was in August, a few days before my birthday. I didn’t have a good reason to skip posting, I just didn’t have anything to talk about at first. From August until October, things stayed pretty much the same. I was riding my bike every day, working every day, and feeling kind of down.

The Wheels On The Bike Turn Out Of Round

Posted in Fatty, Life, Neighbors, Zombie Apocalypse on August 1, 2010 by dougroberson

I overslept today, almost until 8. I’m usually up before 6. I guess it doesn’t matter since it’s the weekend. I was still able to get my ride in this morning (before the rain, too), which is amazing after this week.

Three wheels and one tire later....
