I’ve come to a realization. I suck at blogging. For whatever reason, I am totally incapable of posting on a regular basis. Because of this, I always have a million things to write about when I get back to it.
The picture on the left? That is a house I’m hoping to close on at the end of the month. Since my last post, a few things have changed. one of the most fun ones, so far, is that I’ve moved back to South Florida.
I just finished potting a bunch of rose cuttings and posted the picture on Facebook. I guess I’ll slap it on here, too. I swear, next year’s hobby is going to be something where I can get some money back after I make it. Maybe wind chimes. You can find those in tobacco barns and McMansions. Just no more summers of working my ass off with nothing to show at the start of the fall, okay, Doug?
I’ve been slack. I guess I hab some ‘splainin’ to do.
My last post was in August, a few days before my birthday. I didn’t have a good reason to skip posting, I just didn’t have anything to talk about at first. From August until October, things stayed pretty much the same. I was riding my bike every day, working every day, and feeling kind of down.
I overslept today, almost until 8. I’m usually up before 6. I guess it doesn’t matter since it’s the weekend. I was still able to get my ride in this morning (before the rain, too), which is amazing after this week.
Three wheels and one tire later....
Yesterday, I posted an entry about how I haven’t noticed a difference about my weight loss. Like I said, I am wearing smaller clothes and the numbers on the scale don’t lie, but I don’t see much of a change in the mirror. At work, Kelvin tells me all the time that he can tell. He’s more observant than I am, I guess. When I look in the mirror, I still see Fatty.
A few months ago, I weighed myself and was shocked. Way too fat. I take meds for diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. My ex-girlfriend really wanted me to find a way off of the meds because she believes in homeopathic medicine. I just don’t like taking pills, so I was all for it.

So, I’m already making up stupid titles for my blog posts. Sorry.
Something special happened in my back yard yesterday and I want to talk about it. When I went to my Mom’s house for Christmas ’08, I took about 60 cuttings from rose bushes my Dad raised. They’d started turning woody, so they really needed a trimming, anyway, and I wanted to clone them for my house. I dipped each cutting in rooting hormone, planted it, and covered it with a mason jar, making a mini-greenhouse. Over the next few weeks, they took root and almost all of them survived….
Until I decided to put them in pots.
